I look at it this way: I can’t always control what happens in life, but I can control where I put my attention and set my intentions. So this is a place where we can also share our imperfections and our failures and not feel self-conscious or less than about it. I’m still trying to carve out my own space in the world with my family and my work. My kids range from my stepdaughter Trinity to my two-year-old twins, so there are crazy days and stressful days and everything in between. Social media doesn’t always paint the whole picture: I’ll be the first to tell you that even though I’m extremely happy and blessed to be where I am, my life is not perfect. A friend of mine said to me while we were in Wyoming that my life looks so perfect on Instagram, even though she knows I have rough days. I also want this to be a place where we can be real with each other. Sparkle & Shine Darling is about an attitude, a set of beliefs and a lifestyle. I want this to be a place where we can celebrate our successes together and collectively lift one another up, whether it’s moms sharing the advice they’ve learned along the way or an executive who’s just closed an incredible deal. That’s what this online offshoot is going to be about, too: I’m going to bring you stories of women who will inspire you, women who you relate to, and women who you can look up to. And it was also a place for them to inspired by each other and the amazing work we’re all doing as entrepreneurs, businesswomen and mothers. It was truly a place where I wanted women to feel empowered and like they were part of a community. The real mission of Sparkle & Shine Darling was to be a place to bring women together through events, workshops and trainings. Sparkle & Shine Darling was the name of a clothing and home goods boutique I owned in Miami, where I personally selected everything that was sold in the store-but to me, it was more than a shop that I could fill with beautiful things. Between moving to Texas and our annual #CampBosh trip to Wyoming with all the kids, it’s been a busy summer to say the least! Still, I couldn’t possibly more excited to be introduce you to Sparkle & Shine Darling, my new online community. We’ve also recently relocated to Austin, and are looking forward to becoming a part of the community here. We just celebrated our seventh anniversary, and in those seven years, we’ve not only built a family, we’ve built a life together that’s filled with love, joy, passion and respect.
